About This Site
Web site concept, production and management by UF Web Administration. Web server managed by UF Computing & Networking Services' Open Systems Group.
Standards and Policy
The UF home page, as an official university Web site, abides by the university's Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for campus computing resources which dictates the responsibilities of UF Web developers. This site is built using accepted Web standards: tableless XHTML 1.0 Transitional, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) 2.0 and the Document Object Model (DOM). www.ufl.edu meets all guidelines set forth by the Web Accessibility Initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and conforms to all standards in Section 508 (29 U.S.C. ' 794d) of the Rehabilitation Act.
The adherence to Web standards has produced a site that is accessible to all members of the UF community and loads 50-500% faster (depending upon connection speed) than the previous design.
Establishing a Link on the Web Site Listing
UF campus units that wish to have their online information linked to the UF Web Site Listing should first read and understand UF's AUP. After familiarizing themselves with the appropriate policies, an online agreement and form is available to register or renew a link.
Graphics
A number of official graphics utilizing the UF Wordmark are available to be downloaded and used on UF-related Web pages. Please note, however, that the name, marks and image of the University of Florida cannot be used to imply or suggest endorsement of any product or service not provided by the university. For additional information on the use of the wordmark, refer to the UF's Graphical Standards and AUP.
Use of this System
The UF Home Page is an access point to the University of Florida information technology environment; hence by virtue of using it, users agree to abide by the highest standards of responsibility to their colleagues and agree to comply with all applicable University and State University System policies, and with applicable state and federal laws concerning appropriate use of information technology. Non-compliance is a serious breach of university standards which may result in disciplinary and/or legal action.
Responsibilities of Web developers at the University of Florida are outlined in the AUP.
